Str shape electric guitar
The FENDER Kurt Cobain Jaguar solidbody electric guitar (0143001700), made in honor of the 20th anniversary of the album's release, officially entered the Fender catalog in 2011. It's an affordable right-handed (or left-handed) replica of the modified 1965 vintage Jaguar that Kurt Cobain used during the Nirvana era.
Produced in Mexico, the Cobain Jaguar Signature is notably like the original, equipped with two DiMarzio pickups; the Road Worn-Relic finish imitates the condition of the guitar as it was when the artist died in 1994.
Kurt Donald Cobain (1967-1994) formed Nirvana with Krist Novoselic in 1985, and the pair released their debut album Bleach in 1989. After signing with DGC Records, the band exploded onto the scene with "Smells Like Teen Spirit" from their second album Nevermind (1991).
Bearing serial number 95747, the 1965 Jaguar played by Cobain at the time is highly customized (purchased by Kurt as is): Schaller bridge in black chrome, the three original switches replaced by Gibson-type toggle-switches, DiMarzio PAF humbuckers (bridge) and Super Distortion (bridge), replaced by a Seymour Duncan Jeff Beck for the In Utero tour.
