Folk guitar
The FURCH Vintage Pure EM with OOMs is much more than just an acoustic guitar; it embodies the perfect blend of tradition and modernity, offering tones of unparalleled richness.
Overview
A 12-fret Grand Concert model, the FURCH Vintage Pure EM with OOMs features a solid Engelmann spruce top, a solid African mahogany back and sides, a solid African mahogany neck, and an ebony fingerboard. This configuration allows it to deliver glossy and precise tones, with a strong presence in the midrange and remarkable clarity.
Vintage tones thanks to premium materials
Engelmann spruce, which is less dense and lighter in color than other types such as Sitka or Adirondack, produces more pronounced midrange tones, a softer attack, and offers unmatched tonal clarity, thereby enhancing the guitar’s “vintage” character.
An innovative design for superior comfort
The 12-Fret design, which positions the neck starting at the twelfth fret, allows the soundboard to vibrate more freely. This simplifies string bends and softens the tone, while maintaining the same scale length as a 14-fret guitar.
A understated yet high-quality aesthetic
Despite its understated aesthetic, the Furch Vintage Pure EM with OOMs boasts a polished and appealing vintage identity. Its compact size and short scale make it the ideal instrument for fingerpicking and the blues.
A rigorous and ethical manufacturing process
Furch stands out for its strict selection of wood species, taking environmental considerations into account. The drying process, perfected over the years, along with the meticulous classification of woods according to various criteria (color, grain, consistency, stiffness, etc.), guarantees exceptional quality.
The Importance of the Soundboard and Finish
The soundboard and its bracing play a crucial role in the guitar’s sound and durability. Drawing on thirteen years of expertise, Furch has achieved the perfect balance between stiffness, volume, sustain, and dynamics. In addition, the finish—developed to preserve the instrument’s sonic integrity—is of the highest quality, providing a uniform finish with consistent thickness.
