Custom Shop & Star's Music

The Gibson Custom Shop Made To Measure (M2M) program has been around since 2013. It allows you to place an order for the Gibson of your dreams (be it a Les Paul, an SG, an ES-335, an Explorer…), which you will have precisely determined the characteristics. It is this program that we can call on to build our own M2M models. Check out this collection on the Star’s Music website. If you want to build your dream guitar, just contact us so that we can select a reference model together (to be chosen from a list of instruments inspired in particular by the iconic guitars of Gibson's golden age), then the different options offered by the Custom Shop (body wood/neck/fingerboard, table grade, pickups, neck profile, fittings, colors, finish, etc.). These specifications are then sent to the Custom Shop for validation, quotation and evaluation of the delivery time. All you have to do is accept the quote and wait! This GIBSON Custom Shop M2M 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue solid body electric guitar (LPR94M2M*R961618), a one-off made from premium-grade components, is in every way similar to the original '59, with a lightweight solid mahogany body and solid mahogany neck fitted with a solid rosewood fingerboard joined using the "Long Neck Tenon" method and "Hot Hide Glue" to optimize vibration transfer.
The Custom Buckers Alnico III pickups have been calibrated to reproduce in detail the sound of P.A.F. guitars from this period. As with all Custom Shop models since 2014, Gibson uses a new glue formula ("Hot Hide Glue"), which has the exact properties of the adhesives used at the time. Derived from animal proteins, Hide Glue is used in the music industry (notably by violin makers) or marquetry, as it has many advantages, including facilitating maintenance and possible repairs.
