Semi-hollow electric guitar
The GIBSON Modern Collection ES Supreme (ESSUP00EBGH1) is a luxurious version of the original ES-335, from which it takes its basic specifications (3-ply Maple/Plainwood breakage, mahogany set neck with Rounded C profile). In addition to its advantageous decorum - Mother of Pearl Super Split Block fretboard markers, headstock inspired by a 1940s design found in Gibson archives, gold hardware - it features an Ebony fingerboard and a duo of Burstbucker Pro pickups with coil-split functionality via push-pull volume knobs. A versatile semi-hollow body that will appeal to fans of Rock, Pop, Blues, Indie-Rock or Hard-Rock who expect warm, dynamic, responsive tones.
The ES-335 was the first semi-hollow body electric guitar conceived by former CEO Ted McCarty, who considered it his most important contribution to Gibson guitars. Its production has never been interrupted, promoted over the decades by legendary artists such as B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Larry Carlton, or Warren Haynes.MaintenanceThe nitrocellulose varnish, as on vintage Gibson guitars, plays a major role in the instrument's "breathing" thanks to its porous nature (vibrations are not muffled by the varnish). On the other hand, this varnish is relatively sensitive to contact with the plastics and foams of certain stands, as well as to certain excessively detergent cleaning products.
