Golden age PRE-73 JR PREMIER

The PREQ-73 PREMIER is a microphone preamplifier offered by the Golden Age brand.

The PRE-73jr PREMIER is a vintage mono mic/DI preamplifier inherited from the topology of the classic Neve 1073 console module.
Equipped with a "discrete" class A analog circuit with two Carnhill (UK) transformers at input and output, it also doubles as a line-level preamplifier.

With 70dB of clean mic gain, you have generous headroom that allows you to use even your low-output passive ribbon mics. Get vintage color and punch by cranking up the gain knob, thanks to a dedicated output control that lets you attenuate the signal to push the preamp without saturating your interface's inputs. Further sculpt your sound by using the low-cut filter to eliminate unwanted low-frequency resonances right out of the box, and use the 'Air' function to add sparkle and presence to your high frequencies.

Faithful to classic preamps, the PRE-73jr PREMIER has been designed with careful attention to component selection and manufacturing quality, which is unheard of at this price level. No surface mounted components or integrated circuits are used, and all inputs and outputs are fitted with Carnhill (UK) transformers. Its external power supply eliminates any risk of parasitic noise, and its half-rack metal chassis is both robust and portable.
