Dutch luthier Erik van de Haar has been building guitars since 1987. By dint of questioning and exacting standards, he has succeeded in establishing the Haar brand, whose reputation for excellence now extends far beyond the borders of his native country. Haar guitars are handcrafted from carefully selected woods and components (bodies and necks are home-made, not Warmoth or Allparts parts, pickups are Kloppmann, Lindy Fralin, Bare Knuckle and others). All instruments undergo Plek Machine procedures for outstanding intonation and playing comfort. 1950s-inspired models typically feature Ash bodies and all-Maple necks, while Sixties-inspired guitars have Alder bodies with Maple necks and Rosewood fingerboards.
