Semi-hollow electric guitar
TheIbanez George Benson LGB300-VYS is an exceptional jazz guitar that confirms Ibanez, if it were still necessary, as one of the leading guitar makers. George Benson is a jazz guitarist, singer and composer born on March 22, 1943 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. He recorded his first album, The New Boss Guitar, in 1964, at the age of 21, THEN began a solo career in 1965, with the George Benson Quartet. His talent was then noticed by Miles Davis, who used him on the 1967 album Miles in the Sky.
His career really took off in the second half of the 1970s, in a jazz-funk-westcoast vein, with the albums Breezin (which won 3 Grammy Awards, including Record of the Year for the song "This Masquerade") and In Flight (1977), emblematic of Benson's highly distinctive guitar playing, which simultaneously sings the notes of the solos he improvises, with jazz phrasing over funk rhythm and arrangements.
The high point of his career was the Quincy Jones album Give Me the Night (1980), and the song of the same name, which made George Benson a household name. With such a track record, it's only fitting that a prestigious company like Ibanez should pay tribute to this major artist. The Ibanez George Benson LGB300 lives up to his name and talent, with an extremely high overall quality that puts this instrument on a par with the best Custom Shop Gibson or Fender products.
