Solid body electric bass
TheIBANEZ Iron Label SRMS625EX BKF is a five-string / multi-scale solidbody electric bass with active pre-amp. Its impeccable luthiery combines an Okoume body, a bolt-on neck in Maple/Walnut, and an Ebonol fingerboard set with 24 fanned frets. Combined with an exhaustive control panel, the Bartolini BH2 passive pickups give the SR606E a wide range of action as well as great reactivity and depth. Ibanez has undeniable expertise in offering instruments of impeccable quality at an ultra-realistic price, in all price segments and musical styles.
This model will appeal to bassists looking for a fun-to-play, versatile, high-performance instrument on a reasonable budget. The fingerboard is made of Ebonol, an excellent substitute for Ebony. Ebonol is a synthetic/high-pressure laminate made from layers of paper and phenolic resin, offering similar visual and sonic characteristics to Ebony. Often used in the design of bowed string and wind instruments (notably clarinets, and for fretless bass fingerboards), an instrument equipped with a multi-scale fingerboard with fanned frets offers two major advantages: - optimized string tension for modern tuning (down-tuning) while maintaining optimal intonation - less muscle and tendon stress.
