Limited edition vintage color and knobs for 2024 in celebration of 10 years of Colour Box.
Colour Box v2 has the same features as v1, with many improvements such as extended EQ settings, a Hi/Lo selector for big dynamics in clean sound, and the ability to phantom power your condenser pickups.
The gain section in red has 3 settings, including Pre-Vol, which controls the amount of gain between the 2 internal gain stages. It acts like a Drive or Gain control, adding more bite, distortion and even fuzz as you increase the gain.
The 5-position Step selector increases gain by +18dB, +23dB, +28dB, +33dB or +39dB.
Colour Box v2 has a new Hi/Lo selector that controls the amount of clean-sound dynamics available. In Lo mode, you can easily obtain ultra-clear sounds without saturation, excellent for refining the sound when distortion is not necessary. In Hi mode, the Colour Box v2 will more easily saturate to give a wide spectrum of overdrive, distortion and fuzz sounds.
A -20dB selector on the right-hand side, which works with the XLR input, can help reduce the volume for mics with high output levels.
The EQ section in blue has 3 new Shift settings corresponding to its standard Treble, Middle and Bass settings. The Shift settings adjust the frequency range controlled by the Treble, Middle and Bass settings above. The center frequency of the Shift settings are Treble 10KHz, Middle 1KHz, Bass 120Hz.
Frequencies controlled by the Shift settings :
- Treble: 1kHz to 15kHz with +/- 15dB
- Middle: 160Hz to 2.5kHz with +/- 10dB
- Bass: 20Hz to 400Hz with +/-15dB
The Hi Pass section is activated via the selector under the Hi Pass setting, and runs from 60Hz to 800Hz with a slope of 6dB per octave.
Colour Box v2 has a combination of jack and XLR inputs for use with instruments or microphones. Choose your input with the INST/XLR input selector on the right-hand side.
