Volume, boost & expression effect pedal
When the Volume is turned down, the Katana is a clean boost that increases the signal level without altering it. When the Volume is pulled up, in the high-gain position, it's a thick, harmonically rich booster that uses 2 stages of cascaded FET transistors for tube-amp-style overdrive sounds and more bite. It doubles the 9V of the power supply to give more dynamics in clean boost or more gain in high-gain mode.
