Folk guitar
The LAG Tramontane T318D is a Dreadnought steel-string acoustic guitar featuring a solid Englemann spruce top*1, a laminated Ovangkol back and sides, a Khaya neck (a tropical wood belonging to the mahogany family, with a grain similar to Honduran mahogany, and a sound with mids, basses and muffled trebles) and a Brownwood fingerboard*.
*1 Englemann is a high-quality light spruce with excellent projection, particularly warm bass and a more open sound than Sitka spruce. 2* Brownwood is an ideal substitute for rosewood, derived from short-cycle pines from New Zealand. The wood is first dried to bring its moisture content down to 10%, then impregnated with catalysts and pigments in pressurized vats, followed by a second drying phase to bring its moisture content down to 2 or 3%, before a second pressurized impregnation, this time with resin.
The 3rd phase consists in compressing the material to lose up to 40% of its mass and densify it.
Last phase: fine sanding for perfect appearance and contact.
