The MARTIN & CO Custom Shop CS-OM-C22025684 #2736830 is an Orchestra Model 14 fret steel-string acoustic guitar, with Sitka spruce top, Guatemalan rosewood back and sides, and Ebony fingerboard (all species are of course solid and selected with the greatest intransigence for their acoustic and aesthetic qualities).
Sitka spruce is the traditional choice for the vast majority of acoustic guitars. Thanks to a perfect balance between robustness and elasticity, Sitka generates a direct, punchy sound with impeccable articulation. These characteristics give this species great tonal flexibility and adaptability to virtually any playing style: strumming, flatpicking or fingerpicking. Guatemalan Rosewood has tonal qualities similar to Brazilian Rosewood, whose exploitation has unfortunately been banned by the CITES organization. It is considered one of the most prestigious species, offering warm, rich and powerful tones.
