The MARTIN & CO GPC-X2E Mahogany steel-string acoustic guitar is a Grand Auditorium cutaway that deserves your full attention for its price-performance ratio and its earth-friendly design: the top is made of traditional solid Sapele, but the back and sides are actually made of HPL (High Pressure Laminate), a combination of resin and paper pressed and heated at very high temperatures, then covered with a colored film, or very realistically imitating Mahogany, Rosewood, Ebony or Koa.
