The MARTIN GUITAR Shawn Mendes 000JR-10E is the signature model of the popular Shawn Peter Raul Mendes, a promising young Canadian songwriter/guitarist who has already won numerous awards: thirteen SOCAN awards, ten MTV Europe Music Awards, eight Juno Awards, eight iHeartRadio MMVAs, two American Music Awards, three Grammy Award nominations and a Brit Award nomination. In 2018, Time named him as one of the 100 most influential personalities on its annual list. Made entirely from FSC-certified wood, the Shawn Mendes 000JR-10E is a small-sized electro-acoustic steel-string acoustic guitar perfect for beginners and smaller players in general (000 Junior size, short 24" scale).
It features a laminated spruce top, a laminated Sapele back/side duo, a Sipo neck, an Ebony fingerboard and a Fishman Sonitone pre-amp for easy recording.

Sipo mahogany (aka "Sipo" or "Utile") is a species from African forests, genetically closely related to Sapele. It is generally considered by the music industry to be one of the most promising alternatives to genuine mahogany (especially for guitar necks). Sold with Martin gig bag.

J'ai acheté cet instrument fin août au magasin de Lyon, où l'accueil est toujours parfait.
Petite, légère et maniable, cette guitare sonne comme une grande et est vraiment très typée Martin avec des basses profondes, des aigus pas trop brillants mais cristallins et un bon sustain.
Je l'ai utilisée en prestation deux jours après son achat, c'est dire si la prise en main m'a été facile!
Branchée sur un simple Stagepas, le système Fishman Sonitone fait bien le boulot avec un son assez fidèle au son acoustique si on prend le temps de l'égaliser un peu.
De plus, dans cette série spéciale "signature", les finitions sont magnifiques. La teinte miel de la table est du plus bel effet.
Je tiens à rectifier deux petites erreurs présentes sur la fiche descriptive du site STARS MUSIC : la table est bien en épicéa, le dos et les éclisses en sapelli, mais le tout est massif et non laminé (se référer au site Martin Guitars, à la page des guitares "Junior").
La fabrication est Mexicaine et non USA.
Au final, très heureux de mon achat chez STARS MUSIC, comme toujours.
