The MUSIC MAN John Petrucci JP15 (671-Q71-10-00-MB-CR) is a 7-string solid body electric guitar that combines traditional lutherie (Okoume body, figured maple top, bolt-on neck and torrefied maple fingerboard, 25.5" scale) with modern features that will particularly appeal to Metal/Fusion soloists: 24 frets, Dimarzio Illuminators pickups, piezo and active boost circuit.
Versatile and stylish, functional and ergonomic, it sets itself apart from more conventional instruments with its extraordinary level of expressivity.
Used for decades by the maritime and aeronautical industries, Okoume (native to West Africa) is a species of choice for electric guitars (John Suhr used it for many years). This light, low-density wood can be considered a high-quality Mahogany, with more pronounced high frequencies and an extended dynamic range, exacerbating the instrument's clarity.
