Overdrive, distortion & fuzz effect pedal
Conceived and designed in close collaboration with Analog Mike, the renowned boutique pedal manufacturer, the new MXR Duke of Tone is designed for guitarists who want to add a touch of warmth and bite to their sound without distorting the grain of their high-end guitar and amp.
Based on the Prince of Tone (a single-channel version of the King of Tone, the grail of vintage gear enthusiasts), Analog Mike has personally tested and matched all the pedal's components to ensure that it faithfully reproduces the sound and nuances of the original. Warm and dynamic, this overdrive respects the character of your gear, from guitar to amp. The Duke of Tone has a simple but effective interface: the classic Volume, Drive and Tone controls cover a wide range of tones, and the Boost/OD/Distortion switch selects the overall saturation level. Boost mode boosts the overall level, keeping the sound clean or slightly crunchy, OD mode adds a touch of saturation and compression, and Distortion mode switches to the next level of saturation. But whatever the mode, the pedal won't distort your sound. Be creative: the Duke of Tone reacts very well upstream of other overdrives or distortions. You can also power it at 18V for extra headroom and clarity, especially in boost mode.
