Bass amp head
Orange OB1-500 electric bass amp head: 500 watts Class A/B transistors, bi-preamp, all-analog circuitry, rack-mountable (2U / 19").
Contrary to what its seemingly basic controls might suggest, the OB1-500 head proves to be very versatile, capable of delivering everything from very clean to very nasty sound, and everything in between. It owes this prowess to its dual circuitry, which splits the input signal in two to process the low-frequency register and harmonics individually. The first is amplified to retain all its clarity and definition, while the other is subject to a double distortion stage that you can control with the "Gain" knob). These two sections can be mixed via the "Blend" knob (activated/deactivated by optional footswitch).
