Prism sound Orpheus

The Orpheus is a FireWire interface for personal recording and production applications, designed for professional musicians, composers, audio engineers and producers. The Orpheus is the interface of choice for recording, production, monitoring, analog summing and separate track mastering applications.

The Orpheus allows you to benefit from the sound quality and level of performance that have made Prism Sound famous. This FireWire interface is compatible with Windows XP/Vista and MAC OS X 10.4x (Intel and PPC).

The Orpheus interface is equipped with line, mic and instrument inputs, functions for stereo or surround monitor and monitoring mixes, ADAT/SPDIF digital I/O and ports for connecting MIDI equipment external. The microphone inputs feature an MS processing matrix, and the digital inputs/outputs feature a high-performance digital circuit providing sample rate conversion.

Orpheus signal path
You can assign eight analog input channels and up to ten digital input channels (optical ADAT and S/PDIF on RCA/coaxial connectors) to your digital audio recording application from its Driver. Additionally, eight analog output channels, ten digital output channels and stereo headphone outputs allow signals from 22 different channels to be played. For low-latency listening applications (with headphones or speakers), you can route an independent mix to each pair of outputs (1-2, 3-4, etc.) by selecting the input signals in the application control. All electronically balanced inputs are equipped with an automatic asymmetry circuit, and electronically balanced outputs (Bootstrapping type) guarantee a constant level when one of their pins is connected to ground.
