Folk guitar
Outstanding features, outstanding sound and consistently high quality: that's the basic recipe for the Ovation Pro series.
The Ovation Elite models are special, both to the eye and to the ear. They dispense with the classic soundhole in the middle of the soundboard, opting instead for several smaller openings on the edge of the guitar, known as Multi Soundholes. This special construction has two positive effects: on the one hand, it increases the available vibration surface in the center of the soundboard, and on the other, the sound emerges much closer to the player's ear.
Visually, multiple soundholes are unique. Some models also feature elegant shoulder pads. They're an eye-catcher on any stage.
Top-quality spruce soundboards, made from Grade A wood, also contribute to the acoustic sound of these instruments.
But what would an Ovation be without the typical electro-acoustic sound via an amp or PA system?
An OCP1K transducer with extra-large piezo crystals picks up vibrations not only from the strings, but also from the soundboard.
For signal processing, an OP-Pro preamplifier is used in this series.
The instruments in the Elite TX series are particularly unique, and it's no coincidence that they're very popular on the rock and metal scene. Those accustomed to playing electric guitar will appreciate the maple neck, synonymous with fast response and good sustain, and with a flat profile for optimum playability.
