Samson Expedition Escape+

The Samson Expedition Escape+ is a portable, battery-powered speaker designed for mobile professionals, teachers, coaches, and facilitators who primarily need to play voice and music in a small space. Weighing 4.7 kg, with Bluetooth connectivity and a claimed battery life of up to 20 hours, it’s easy to use without a constant AC power source. With 15 W RMS and a 6-inch speaker, it’s designed primarily for light sound reinforcement rather than musical performances requiring high volume levels.

Key Features

• Built-in battery with up to 20 hours of battery life, allowing you to work without staying near a power outlet.
• Bluetooth for streaming music directly from a compatible smartphone, tablet, or computer.
• 6.35 mm microphone input with volume control to add vocals without an external mixer.
• USB port compatible with Samson XPD wireless systems (sold separately) for using a wireless microphone.
• Weighs 4.7 kg and features a 35 mm mounting socket for easy transport and installation on a speaker stand.

Is it suitable for classes, presentations, and events?

The Expedition Escape+ is particularly well-suited for situations where the priority is to make a voice audible and to play music occasionally without setting up a full sound system. You can plug a wired microphone into the 6.35 mm jack input and then adjust its level directly on the speaker.

With 15 W RMS of power, it’s best suited for small groups and spaces with limited dimensions. For a large room, a large audience, or an event requiring strong bass, you’ll need to consider a more powerful sound system.

How do you play music?

Bluetooth receives audio from a compatible smartphone, tablet, or computer. This allows you to play background music, a soundtrack, or educational content without a cable between the source and the speaker.

A 3.5 mm mini-jack auxiliary input is also available for devices you prefer to connect via a cable.

Can I use a wireless microphone?

The speaker’s USB port supports a compatible Samson XPD wireless system. This solution eliminates the need for a cable between the microphone and the speaker, but the XPD system is not included with the Expedition Escape+ and must be purchased separately.

Is it really easy to transport?

Weighing 4.7 kg and featuring a built-in battery, the speaker can be moved regularly between different rooms or venues. Its battery life of up to 20 hours also minimizes the need for recharging during a full day of use.

The standard 35 mm mounting socket allows the speaker to be mounted on a compatible stand. The stand is not listed as included and must therefore be purchased separately if you wish to elevate the speaker.

What are its main limitations?

The Expedition Escape+ remains a small, portable 15 W RMS speaker. It is not intended to replace a more powerful sound system for a concert, dance party, or event where high sound pressure levels and deep bass are required.

Its main appeal lies in its portability and ease of setup for voice announcements, presentations, classes, and small-scale events.
