Saturation pedals capable of delivering quality sounds simultaneously in the two fundamental registers of Blues-Rock and Hard-Heavy are in short supply. The Seymour Duncan 805 Overdrive, on the basis of the 808 circuit of the legendary Tube Screamer, is first and foremost a classic overdrive. From there, and after much experimentation, Seymour Duncan replaced certain components so that the 805 could also offer other alternatives.
So, thanks to its superior distortion range and three-band EQ, the 805 Overdrive can go from a simple boost full of harmonics, to a mellow, lyrical Blues, to a big, natural, articulate Hard-Metal or even Djent sound, with compressed bass and scathing highs.
