Overdrive, distortion & fuzz effect pedal
Faithful to the original Imperial, the compact SOLIDGOLDFX Imperial MKII Fuzz pedal retains the high-impedance JFET preamp, adding detail and definition to the low end. A new Contour setting replaces the Mids selector to change the frequency of the high-pass filter, and it's with its noise gate that the Imperial MKII makes the difference. The germanium transistors of the Jumbo Fuzz have been replaced by silicon and an improved envelope generator to ensure coherence and responsiveness to your sound. Not only is the noise gate virtually noise-free, it also gives a unique, precise attack with no loss of sustain, even with lots of fuzz. In the 60s and 70s, JEN Elettronica made pedals for Vox, Dallas Arbiter and Sound City. The Jumbo Fuzz was their interpretation of the Big Muff (knobs replaced by slides, germanium noise gate added). In terms of sound, the Jumbo Fuzz was like a Ram's Head, not too deep, with plenty of gain.
