Sony Dars+Hi8 Specially formulated for DA88 format. Takes this format as far as it will currently go. Hi8 The 8mm tape format makes increased demands on data packing density. Tape geometry, oxide formulation and dispersion come under particular scrutiny. From a consensus of top studios and broadcasters we find that the Metal Particle version is preferred to the Evaporated Metal versions (Sony's publicity confirms Metal Particle is more durable than the HMEX evaporated metal alloy version).
