Folk guitar
The Takamine P1DC Dreadnought folk-electro guitar, introduced with the 2013 Pro Series vintage, continues the tradition of impeccable semi-professional instruments in which the brand is a leading specialist. It replaces the extremely popular TAN10C.
The range is thus subdivided into three series:
- Pro Series 1 - equipped with "X-braced" resonant bracing, a solid Cedar top, a laminated Sapele back and sides combo (almost equivalent to Mahogany), a pleasing Mahogany neck / Rosewood fingerboard with asymmetrical profile, bone saddles and a Takamine CT4B II preamp, the various guitars in the Pro Series 1 line (available in Dreadnought, Jumbo, OM and Nex formats) are all characterized by high playing comfort, rich, warm acoustic tones (Cedar top) and amplified sounds to match.
- Pro Series 2 - almost identical to Series 1, these guitars are distinguished by a solid spruce top, giving them a significantly more powerful and clear acoustic grain. Visually speaking, Spruce is brighter than Cedar. Currently available in Dreadnought.
- Pro Series 3 - this range is the most refined of the three, with a solid Cedar top featuring hand-carved "scalloped X bracing" bracing, a solid Sapele back and sides duo, an African Mahogany / Rosewood fingerboard neck and more elaborate cosmetics. Otherwise similar to the other series and available in Dreadnought, Jumbo, New Yorker, FXC, NEX formats.
