Active subwoofer
The Yamaha DXS18 XLF is a 1600W powered subwoofer.
The cabinet of the DXS XLF subwoofer has a durable Polyurea finish; this coating provides excellent scratch, impact and weather resistance.
Built-in D-XSUB subwoofer processing gives you full access to what's going on in the low frequencies: NORMAL mode gives a perfectly balanced bass response, while BOOST mode provides more controlled, accurate bass with even more punch. The XTENDED LF mode allows you to go even lower, for an even more pronounced sound foundation: the response curve then drops to incredible values for a subwoofer of these dimensions. Usually, the higher the sound pressure level, the more difficult it is to control the directionality of the bass energy. This can lead to the sound spreading out on stage, and can affect the overall sound quality. Configurations with two or more DXS XLF subwoofers allow you to work in cardioid mode, where the bass level radiated backwards on the stage side is seriously attenuated, while it is reinforced on the audience side. The result is a much cleaner sound on stage. Without a doubt, your full-range DZR speakers will take your performance to the next level if you complement them with powerful DXS XLF active subwoofers.
