NEW AN-X MOTOR

A revolution in authentic analog sound, control and behavior, the AN-X engine recreates the warm, classic sound of an analog synthesizer with a host of sophisticated modulation options.

A significant improvement over the 256 notes of the original MONTAGE: MONTAGE M offers up to 400 notes of polyphony spread across its three engines.

Global improvements and new content

Memory upgrade: Wave preset increased to 9.97 GB (vs. 5.67 GB) and user flash memory to 3.8 GB (vs. 1.75 GB). A host of new sounds and instruments: pianos, orchestra, drums and more.

FM-X and VCM rotary/traction behavior

The 8-operator FM-X engine continues Yamaha's heritage for timbres ranging from clear "bell-like" to aggressive and evolving. The VCM rotary speaker effect and new drawbar fader setting simulate the vintage behavior of classic organs.

Extensive management and libraries

16 library slots to host up to 10,240 additional performances (in addition to over 2,700 presets), with quick searches by category, name and attributes.

PURE ANALOG CIRCUIT 2

Pure Analog Circuit 2 reduces noise and improves dynamic range, crosstalk, low-frequency phase and distortion, delivering a clearer sound at all volumes with more detailed midrange and presence.

GEX ACTION WITH POLYPHONIC AFTERTOUCH (M8x MOUNT ONLY)

Available exclusively on MONTAGE M8x: GEX Action with polyphonic aftertouch, a revered control found on the legendary CS-80 and DX1. Polyphonic Aftertouch lets you modulate held notes individually according to pressure, with a key-repetition behavior akin to a grand piano.

NEW PERFORMANCE CONTROLS

A 5-segment ribbon controller with HOLD button, a new KEYBOARD HOLD button for holding chords during editing, as well as a portamento on/off button and a dedicated portamento time button.

DEDICATED KEYBOARD, PART AND SCENE CONTROL

Dedicated keyboard, part and stage buttons to control 16 parts per performance: intuitive control, particularly effective for live performances.

The Expanded Softsynth Plugin (ESP) reproduces MONTAGE M in your favorite DAW. Free for registered owners, it will enable you to create, edit and mix MONTAGE M performances without hardware.

New 512 × 64 LCD screen, 6 touchscreen display buttons and PAGE JUMP button to send content to the 7? TFT color touchscreen for further editing. The dedicated navigation button previews a performance and provides direct access to parameters.
