Electric guitar combo amp
The BOSS Katana-Artist MkII (100 watts Class AB, 1x12) programmable transistor/modeling electric guitar amp is the natural evolution of the flagship BOSS Katana model. Five new variations on the five amp characteristics double your basic tonal possibilities (ten distinct timbre options), and built-in effects increase from three to five.
Three-position Contour front-panel controls, global EQ with three modifiable curves, and a Solo Boost with adjustable volume provide even more versatility.
The new dual-amp function lets you combine and control two Katana-Artist MkIIs to generate super-thick sounds with optimum spatiality. Each amp can be adjusted independently and then controlled via a GA-FC footswitch, allowing you to combine clean and distorted sounds, create wet/dry configurations and more.
The Stereo Expand function is designed to assign one amp as master and the other as slave. Featuring BOSS Tube Logic technology, the Katana-Artist MkII reproduces the realistic output distortion behavior of tube amps, with the sound becoming more consistent and the response intensifying as the overall volume increases.
However, you can maintain the same sound at any volume, thanks to the Power Control circuit. Thanks to the Tone Setting system, you can memorize your tones (amps, effects) and recall them instantly.
Once you've adjusted the parameters to your liking, save the tone at the touch of a button.
Eight memories (two banks of four) are available, accessible from the front panel.
Hands-free control via external footswitches or GA-FC footswitch.
A foot-controlled boost function ensures that you'll be perfectly heard during solo passages or on sections requiring extra volume.
The Waza 12" custom loudspeaker plays a decisive role in Katana-Artist MkII's sound quality and performance. Specially developed by BOSS, it boasts a wide dynamic response, muffled midrange and the rich harmonics of the famous English 25-watt speaker from the 60s.
Thanks to a detailed analysis of the original vintage examples and a drastic choice of components, the Waza speaker reproduces the characteristics of the legendary model while enabling it to handle 100 watts of power. The semi-enclosed cabinet structure delivers directional, highly toned sounds with full bass frequencies and full midrange.
Line, USB and headphone/recording outputs feature simulated microphone pickup, enabling you to send sound to a PA system, recording software or headphones. Direct sound can be reworked using three Air Feel ambience controls, available in BOSS Tone Studio software.
The optional GA-FC footswitch is virtually indispensable. Its six switches allow you to recall your Tone Settings memories and activate/deactivate the five effects sections.
The GA-FC can also be linked to external footswitches and expression pedals, with default assignments such as tap tempo, bank selection, foot volume or pedal FX. Assignments can be made in BOSS Tone Studio, with up to three parameters controlled by a single pedal.
You can connect your Katana-Artist MkII to the BOSS Tone Studio application and multiply the amp's capabilities: you'll find over 60 effect types (various routings possible within four different chains).
The new Pedal FX category makes it easier to assign Wah-Wah and Bend effects to an expression pedal. You can import your patches from a first-generation Katana into the Katana-Artist MkII.
