Touch and Mechanism

The Smart Scaled Hammer Action keyboard combines hammer-action mechanics with digital control of the sound response. The five sensitivity levels allow you to adjust the relationship between your touch and the volume produced, without changing the mechanical resistance of the keys. The white and black keys feature textures inspired by ivory and ebony, respectively.

The three pedals provide forte, sostenuto, and soft functions. The forte pedal distinguishes between the released, half-depressed, and fully depressed positions: the half-pedal offers an intermediate sustain of notes, rather than continuous detection of pedal travel.

Sounds and Layering

The Multi-Dimensional Morphing AiR engine offers 19 sounds and, for piano sounds, simulates string and damper resonances as well as the mechanical sounds of the keys and dampers. The lid simulator adjusts the tone color across four levels.

Layer mode allows you to play two sounds together, except for the bass sound. Split mode places this bass on the left side of the keyboard, with another sound on the right. The maximum polyphony of 192 voices handles simultaneous sounds; their use depends in particular on layer settings and notes held down by the pedal.

Learning and Recording

The metronome helps you practice keeping a steady rhythm. The 60 built-in songs let you mute the left or right part so you can play it yourself. Duo mode divides the keyboard into two zones with comparable ranges, which is useful for lessons with a teacher.

The MIDI recorder saves a piece on two tracks as performance data. You can record one part, then add the second while listening to the first. The audio recorder creates WAV files on a USB flash drive, with a maximum of 99 files of approximately 25 minutes each.

Speakers and Headphone Playback

The stereo system includes two 12-cm speakers. The amplifier output is 16 W + 16 W, with a maximum output of 20 W + 20 W. Volume Sync EQ adjusts the frequency balance at low volumes.

Two headphone jacks allow two people to listen at the same time, and Headphone Mode adjusts the sound processing for this use. Physical sounds from the keys and pedals may still be audible in the room.

Bluetooth and Apps

The included WU-BT10 adapter receives audio from a mobile device and plays it through the piano’s speakers. Bluetooth MIDI exchanges performance data with compatible apps. CASIO MUSIC SPACE, in particular, lets you adjust the instrument’s settings from a smartphone or tablet.

Setup

The white wood-grain cabinet features a soft-close sliding keyboard cover. It measures 140.1 cm wide, 44 cm deep, and 86.9 cm high (excluding the music stand), and weighs approximately 47.1 kg with the stand and music stand. Also allow for the necessary space behind the bench.

The standard package from the French manufacturer includes the cabinet with pedalboard, the music stand, the AC power adapter, the WU-BT10 adapter, and a headphone hook. The bench is not included in this package; its inclusion depends on the specific offer.
