Digital piano with stand
The Casio Celviano AP-750GB is a cabinet-style digital piano designed for experienced pianists who want to practice at home on an instrument featuring a hybrid keyboard, three grand piano sounds, and a full-featured built-in amplification system. This GB version features a beige finish. Weighing 53.6 kg, with a fixed pedalboard and a cabinet 1.40 m wide, it is better suited for a permanent setup than for portable use.
Key Features
- 88-key CELVIANO Edition Smart Hybrid Hammer Action keyboard, with a hybrid wood and resin structure, offering a mechanism designed specifically for piano playing.
- 39 sounds and 256-note polyphony, including three grand pianos: Berlin, Vienna, and Hamburg.
- 4-channel Grandphonic system with 8 speakers, powered by four 10-watt amplifiers, for playing directly without an external audio system.
- Three built-in pedals, including continuously variable forte and soft pedals with half-pedal control.
- Instant RePlayer with continuous recording for up to 270 seconds, allowing you to replay a passage without manually starting a recording.
- Includes the WU-BT10 adapter for Bluetooth Audio and Bluetooth MIDI, in addition to USB connections and line outputs.
Is this keyboard suitable for an experienced pianist?
The CELVIANO Edition Smart Hybrid Hammer Action Keyboard features 88 keys made of a hybrid wood and resin material. It offers five sensitivity settings and dedicated parameters for hammer response and key release, providing more customization options than an entry-level digital keyboard.
The built-in pedalboard complements this design with a sustain pedal and a continuously variable soft pedal. The half-pedal function, in particular, allows you to modulate the sustain pedal’s action rather than operating solely in an all-or-nothing manner.
What piano sounds does the AP-750GB offer?
The AiR Grand engine offers a total of 39 sounds, including three grand pianos named Berlin, Vienna, and Hamburg. The Berlin Grand sound was developed in collaboration with C. Bechstein.
The Acoustic Simulator affects several aspects of the piano’s behavior, including string resonance, damper resonance, open string resonance, and overtone resonance, as well as certain action noises from the keys and pedals. The Lid Simulator also offers several positions to modify the virtual piano’s response without changing the sound.
Can you play without external speakers?
The Grandphonic Sound System features 8 speakers distributed across 4 channels, with a total amplification of 40 W. The piano therefore functions independently for home use and does not require additional speakers for normal operation.
Two stereo headphone jacks also allow you to play with headphones or listen with a partner. Two line outputs (L/Mono and R) are available if you wish to send the signal to an amplifier, active speakers, or other compatible audio equipment.
How do you record your performance?
The Instant RePlayer function continuously records up to 270 seconds of your performance. It lets you immediately replay a passage you’ve just played, even if you didn’t think to start recording beforehand.
For intentional recording, the AP-750GB also features a 2-track MIDI recorder. The audio recorder can store up to 99 songs in internal memory or on a USB drive, with longer recording times than the Instant RePlayer.
What is the Visual Information Bar used for?
The light bar on the front panel visually displays various pieces of information related to your playing and the piano’s functions. In particular, it can display velocity, pedal action, tempo, or the metronome’s beat.
It thus provides visual feedback without requiring you to look at an external screen, which can be helpful during technical practice or when using the metronome.
What do Bluetooth and the CASIO MUSIC SPACE app do?
The included WU-BT10 adapter adds two distinct functions. Bluetooth Audio receives audio from a compatible smartphone or tablet and plays it through the piano’s speakers, while Bluetooth MIDI transmits MIDI data to compatible apps.
The piano also works with CASIO MUSIC SPACE to provide access to additional control and practice features. A USB Type B port remains available for wired MIDI connection with a compatible device, while the USB Type A port can accommodate the wireless adapter or a USB flash drive, depending on your needs.
What considerations should you keep in mind before installation?
The AP-750GB measures approximately 140.1 cm wide, 44 cm deep, and 92.9 cm tall without the music stand, and weighs 53.6 kg. You’ll therefore need to set aside a stable and sufficiently spacious location for it, and moving it around regularly isn’t its primary purpose.
The pedalboard, music stand, AC adapter, headphone hook, and WU-BT10 wireless MIDI and audio adapter are included with the instrument. Headphones or an external audio system need to be added only if your setup requires them.
