The Catalinbread Formula 5F6 is based on the Bassman Tweed amp which, although sold as a bass amp, was perfect for guitar! Depending on the volume, the result is richly harmonic and brilliant, or more pushed to react to attacks, or even more for a thick, creamy crunch. A rapid compression operates on the initial attack, then "breathes" on a clear sound with brilliant highs and percussive lows. Finally, more gain and tone have been added to this circuit for bigger sounds and a clear attack, thanks to an internal selector.
