Overdrive, distortion & fuzz effect pedal
Between 1966 and 1968, Mosrite produced 2 distinct fuzz circuits, one based on silicon transistors, the other on germanium. The germanium version is by far the rarer, since the original designer, Ed Sanner, estimates that only 250 pieces were built in all. During this last year of production, Mosrite switched exclusively to silicon. However, by 1968 the public was loving the fuzz after hearing it on a few recordings of the increasingly popular psychedelic rock wave, which had been recorded before the silicon Fuzzrite. Catalinbread happened to have a Mosrite in germanium version, which they used as a reference to create an extremely faithful reproduction but with a modern twist. Like the original, the Catalinbread Fuzzrite features 2 germanium PNP semiconductors with a polarity inverter to match any form of power supply. But unlike the original, an additional selector allows you to switch to modern mode to boost bass.
