The CORT Core-OC Blackwood is an electro-acoustic Orchestra Model cutaway with all-solid-wood construction, Sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides and Ovangkol fingerboard. The integrated Fishman Sonitone system makes amplification simple and efficient (volume and tone controls in the soundhole).

The resurgence in popularity of small-format folks like OM, Grand Auditorium or Parlor has led to a plethora of models on offer, and the Cort Core-OC, in the entry/mid-range segment, is undoubtedly one of the most attractive on the market. Blackwood is an Acacia offering tones somewhere between Hawaiian Koa, Mahogany and, to a lesser extent, Indian Rosewood (for subtle brilliance). Its clear, dynamic and warm mid-range gives the instrument a remarkable presence, and it has the added virtue of being harvested in protected forests.
