Vintage / reissue semi-hollow body electric guitar with center block, made in Indonesia. Doubly inspired by Gibson@ ES-335@ and Les Paul@, and sublimated by its elegant Art Deco styling, the D'ANGELICO Premier DC (DAPDCFRCSCB) is a traditional semi-hollow body in the best sense of the word. The combination of laminated maple luthiery (Ovangkol fingerboard) and D'Angelico humbucking pickups in the tradition of the legendary P.A.F. provides warm, dynamic tones, both bright and saturated. Thanks to its center block, which limits the feedback problems inherent in hollow-bodied guitars, it can handle relatively high levels of overdrive. A versatile instrument, therefore, capable of operating in a wide range of musical registers, from subdued jazz to incisive hard rock. Ovangkol is an African relative of rosewood. It has most of the same acoustic characteristics, but with a more generous midrange and glossier treble.
