The Erica Synths Bullfrog Drums is a sample-based drum machine designed for electronic musicians who want to create, experiment and perform with an instrument that's both easy to access and highly creative. Developed in collaboration with Richie Hawtin, it combines the immediate approach of classic rhythm machines with modern sampling and advanced sequencing functions. Compact, robust and self-contained thanks to its built-in loudspeaker, it's equally at home in a studio or live setup. A sampling-based drum machine

Bullfrog Drums uses 7 independent sample-based tracks. You can create electronic drums, but also work with textures, drones, chords, effects or any other type of sound. This versatility allows you to go far beyond simple rhythmic programming.

Comprehensive tools for sculpting every sound

Each track features dedicated controls for pitch, start point, sample length, attack, decay, overdrive and stereo panning. You can quickly transform a simple sample into a unique sound element tailored to your production.

Sample your own sounds directly

Thanks to the built-in microphone and line input, you can easily record sounds from your environment, an instrument or another machine. The 64 MB of on-board memory lets you store your own sample banks and fully customize your sound library.

A sequencer inspired by legendary machines

The step-by-step sequencer takes the intuitive approach of the famous X0X drum machines. With up to 64 steps per pattern, it facilitates the creation of complex grooves while remaining quick to learn.

Advanced functions for lively rhythms

Ratchets, probabilities, micro-timing, automations and parameter locks add movement and variation to your sequences. You get more organic, evolving rhythms without having to program every detail manually.

A control center for your electronic setup

The integrated CV/Gate sequencer lets you drive modular or semi-modular synthesizers directly from the machine. The Bullfrog Drums can thus become the heart of your setup, synchronizing several pieces of equipment around a single workflow.

Designed for studio and stage alike

Its aluminum chassis ensures excellent robustness, while MIDI DIN, USB-C and stereo audio outputs make it easy to integrate into any setup. Its built-in speaker also lets you compose or experiment without additional equipment.
