Limited Edition 2024 with Sassafras body, Rosewood fingerboard and Satin Mocha color. The FENDER FSR American Performer Timber Stratocaster solid body electric guitar (0171030729) is a vintage/modern model between Mexican and Standard USA productions. It combines traditional features (bolt-on maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, 25.5" scale) with more contemporary ones (22 frets, 9.5" radius). Sassafras will eventually replace the closely related Swamp Ash, both visually and acoustically.
It's a species of North American deciduous tree (used by native Americans as a medicinal plant) that offers glossy, punchy tones with well-defined low-midrange frequencies. Fender Yosemite pickups have been developed for the occasion, particularly rich and expressive with a consistent output level. What's more, a push/pull switch allows the bridge pickup to be added at any position of the selector, and the circuit incorporates the Greasebucket tone system (only on the bridge pickup). The Greasebucket maintains a good bass/treble balance when the instrument's volume is turned down.
