Based on a "1952 Telecaster Base Model" die, this FENDER Custom Shop Time Machine 1952 Telecaster Heavy Relic Aged Nocaster Blonde #R136636 (9235001559) is the reinterpretation of the iconic Fender Telecaster of the early fifties. Solid body electric guitar, two-piece "sort for lightweight" Ash body, bolt-on neck and rift-sawn Maple fingerboard (profile '57 Soft V, narrow-tall frets, hybrid radius 7.25/9.5"), Custom Shop Hand-wound '50/51 Blackguard pickups. Sold with Fender Custom Shop case, strap, certificate of authenticity.
The Fender Telecaster, Stratocaster, Jazzmaster, Jaguar Precision Bass or Jazz Bass are legendary electric guitars that are an integral part of the history of amplified music, having amply contributed to its expansion and democratization.
The ideal situation would be to be the proud owner of an original example from the 50s or 60s, but the price of vintage instruments is so high that it's difficult for anyone to gain access to them. The Time Machine concept: dealers present at NAMM 1995 were totally blown away by the level of realism of the first two Relic models Fender presented to them that year. Even though they knew all there was to know about vintage guitars, they were fooled into thinking they were genuine Fender originals (a '51 Nocaster and a '56 Mary Kaye Stratocaster).
The early-aging process is now fully mastered and accounts for the bulk of Custom Shop sales.
