Based on a "1956 Stratocaster Base Model" die, the FENDER Custom Shop Time Machine 1956 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic Fiesta Red With Gold Hardware #R130433 (9238014419) is a reinterpretation of a typical mid-1950s Fender. The Tomatillo is a single-coil pickup built around Alnico II magnets to reproduce the sound of an original 1950s pickup equipped with Alnico V magnets that would have lost its intensity over the decades. Solid body electric guitar, Alder body, bolt-on neck in AA flamed quarter-sawn maple (profile '57 Style Soft V), AA flamed maple fingerboard (narrow-tall frets, radius 9.5" radius), Custom Shop Tomatillo Alnico 2 hand-wound pickups. Clear and crystalline, the Tomatillo sounds like a 50+ year-old pickup equipped with Alnico 5 magnets. Sold with Fender Custom Shop hardshell case, strap, certificate of authenticity.
