Str shape electric guitar
The FENDER Custom Shop Lexus LC Stratocaster (9235001665) solid body electric guitar was designed by Fender Custom Shop Principal Master Builder Ron Thorn. The guitar features an omnidirectional Structural Blue finish - a spectral range that produces a light-metallic to deep midnight-blue color inspired by the Morpho butterfly, whose uncommonly large iridescent-blue wings create the illusion that the beautiful insect disappears and reappears in mid-flight. Until now, the only other use of Structural Blue has been on the Lexus LC 500 Inspiration Series coupe and convertible. The fasteners on the guitar's pickguard are black-button machine head screws that create a clean automotive appearance, and the latest version of Fender's Noiseless pickups are used here by the Custom Shop for the first time.
The fingerboard is a polished deep blue made from Richlite, a material new to the Fender Custom Shop and selected exclusively for this build given its similarity to components in Lexus vehicles. To match the Lexus sound system configuration, Thorn included custom machined-brushed aluminum knobs to match the auto's Mark Levinson knobs while reducing the typical number of Stratocaster control knobs from three to two - Master Volume and Master Tone.
With an artwork designed by Robert Goetzl MARTIN GUITAR DX Woodstock 50th acoustic guitar commemorates the famous 1969 music festival.
Martin is one of the most environmentally friendly company, always searching to improve the tone qualities of its "composite instruments", while innovating to develop better ways to use natural resources and reduce waste of the woods traditionally chosen to make acoustic guitars.
Apart from its Birch neck, the DX Woodstock 50th is built with composite materials : HPL (High Pressure Laminate) for top/back/sides, Richlite for the fingerboard.
HPL is made up of several layers. At its core are sheets of paper impregnated with thermosetting resins (typically phenolic) that are bonded together, and then adorned with photographic reproductions (wood or original paintings like on this DX Woodstock).
Martins made with HPL back and sides have a distinct, pretty ring, and plenty of Rosewood-like clear bass response.
HPL is impervious to fluctuations in weather and humidity.
Ebony has been a wood of unsustainable harvesting, as a consequence many guitar companies including Martin or Gibson use Richlite, a phenolic resin/cellulose compound material with excellent tone.
