This FENDER Custom Shop 1959 Stratocaster Relic #R117661 (9237002002) solid body electric guitar features a two-piece Alder body, AAA round-lam "sort for dark" Rosewood fingerboard (radius 9.5", '59 Esquire C neck profile, narrow-tall frets), and hand-wired '59 Hand-wound pickups. Sold with Fender Custom Shop case. Fender Telecasters and Stratocasters are timeless benchmarks. They are an integral part of the history of amplified music, having contributed amply to its expansion and democratization. Ideally, you'd like to be the proud owner of an original example from the 50s or 60s, but the price of vintage examples is so high that it's difficult for anyone to gain access to them. Concerning the Relic finish: the dealers present at NAMM 1995 were totally blown away by the level of realism of the first two Relic models that Fender presented to them that year. Most mistook them for genuine Fender originals (a '51 Nocaster and a '56 Mary Kaye Stratocaster).
