Fender Malibu Special - honey burst

Particularly user-friendly thanks to its compact size (Concert) and short scale (24.1"), the FENDER California Malibu Special (0970822142) is an attractive steel-string acoustic guitar with all-solid-wood construction (Okoume top/bottom/sides, Mahogany neck and Pau Ferro fingerboard), easily amplified by the Fishman Flex Body preamp. Used for many decades by the maritime and aeronautical industries, Okoume (a native of West Africa) is the wood of choice for electric guitars (John Suhr used it for many years).
This light, low-density wood can be considered a Mahogany, with more pronounced high frequencies and an extended dynamic range, exacerbating the instrument's clarity. The Pau Ferro that makes up the fingerboard is a wood from the forests of Brazil and Bolivia. Its high density creates a hybrid sound between rosewood and maple. Its pleasant touch is unmistakably reminiscent of Ebony.
