Overdrive, distortion & fuzz effect pedal
The Santa Ana V2 is a Class A JFET overdrive pedal that operates internally at 18 V; this design offers the touch sensitivity and ample headroom that musicians expect from a Fender tube amp pushed to its limits—and beyond. At the heart of the unit, this dual-voicing overdrive circuit features three simple controls as well as a “Voice” switch that lets you switch from a precise, natural overdrive (Voice A) to rich, creamy lead tones (Voice B). The Drive and Tone knobs offer a wide range of adjustment to precisely control gain and high-end presence, while the “Tight” switch on the back attenuates certain low frequencies before they enter the overdrive circuit, resulting in an even more defined and focused tone.
To further refine the frequency response of your overdrive, an independent, switchable 3-band EQ circuit is integrated around the Santa Ana V2’s overdrive engine. The active bass, mid, and treble controls offer a wide range of adjustment, allowing you to attenuate or boost each frequency range, with a center position indicating a neutral response. You can precisely control how the EQ circuit interacts using the “EQ Placement” switch, which lets you place the EQ before or after the overdrive: Pre-drive EQ colors the overdrive response by determining which frequencies are clipped the most by the circuit; post-drive EQ allows your guitar’s raw signal to feed directly into the overdrive circuit, while shaping the final sound for a more pronounced EQ effect.
Featuring an optimized JFET overdrive engine, an independent EQ circuit, easily switchable “buffered” and “true bypass” modes, and multifunction footswitches that allow for momentary or latching activation, the Santa Ana V2 is an intuitive and ultra-versatile overdrive pedal, offering a wide range of sounds.
