The OCD is designed with 2 Mosfets and older versions also had 1 germanium diode, but these diodes soon became increasingly difficult to find and very expensive.
But recently, Fulltone managed to get their hands on a good quantity of superb Germanium diodes and so made a limited production run of the ultimate OCD with a few modifications to its circuitry, 2 Mosfets and Germanium diodes, as well as a super blue metallic chrome. Sound-wise, it has superb definition, a more tube-like feel, wider dynamics, more sustain and a sound more focused on single notes. And as with all Fulltone pedals, it's 100% made in the USA.
The OCD-Ge is equipped with germanium clipping diodes, giving it a smoother attack, more muted highs and a slightly softer feel under the fingers. It saturates slightly earlier and has a slightly greater harmonic richness, particularly at low to medium gain levels.
