The OCD is designed with 2 Mosfets and older versions also had 1 germanium diode, but these diodes soon became increasingly difficult to find and very expensive.
But recently, Fulltone managed to get their hands on a good quantity of superb Germanium diodes and so made a limited production run of the ultimate OCD with a few modifications to its circuitry, 2 Mosfets and Germanium diodes, as well as a super blue metallic chrome. Sound-wise, it has superb definition, a more tube-like feel, wider dynamics, more sustain and a sound more focused on single notes. And as with all Fulltone pedals, it's 100% made in the USA.
The OCD V2 offers the characteristic open, dynamic overdrive sound, with excellent note separation, precise bass and plenty of power reserve. Its action is immediate, punchy and articulate, making it extremely versatile and compatible with a wide range of amps.
