The FURCH Vintage 1 SM OM (LRB1) is an electro-acoustic steel-string acoustic guitar in the Orchestra Model style. It features high-grade solid woods in a proven traditional configuration: AA Sitka spruce top, AA rosewood back and sides, solid African mahogany neck, and ebony fingerboard.
The Vintage 1 SM is a superbly crafted instrument, delivering rich, balanced, and responsive tones with a fully realized vintage character that is absolutely irresistible.
Indian rosewood is undoubtedly one of the most popular traditional woods. It possesses the fundamental character of mahogany with prominent (though more subdued) midrange, but with a much wider frequency range extending to both the lower and upper ends of the spectrum.
The LR Baggs EAS-VTC active system allows for easy and effective amplification of the instrument. Volume and tone control knobs are discreetly positioned on the inner edge of the soundhole. The sound is dynamic, open, and faithful to the guitar’s true character.
Furch guitars are extremely well-positioned and are every bit as good as equivalent models offered by leading American brands.
At Furch, it all begins with an uncompromising selection of wood species, during which environmental considerations are taken seriously.
Next comes the drying process, which the company spent many years perfecting before achieving optimal results.
The classification of woods according to various criteria (color, grain, consistency, stiffness, etc.) leaves nothing to chance either.
As we know, the soundboard and its bracing play a fundamental role in the instrument’s sound and longevity. Here again, Furch draws on its three decades of expertise, which has enabled it to find the optimal balance between stiffness, volume, sustain, and dynamics.
The finish is no small part of the equation that makes for great acoustic guitars. Furch has gone the extra mile to develop an effective protective coating that fully preserves the sonic integrity of its guitars. Its finishes are stunning, but above all, they are extremely uniform and consistent in thickness.
Housed in a carbon sleeve, the Furch CNR bidirectional truss rod allows for precise adjustment of the neck’s curvature while stabilizing it.
