Semi-hollow electric guitar

Like the SG Standard or the Les Paul Custom, the ES-335 is one of Gibson's timeless models. This semi-hollowbody electric guitar with center block* excels in a wide range of musical styles, from blues, pop and jazz to classic rock and hard rock. *The maple center block enhances sustain and reduces the feedback problems inherent in hollow-body guitars. This feature enables the ES-335 to "withstand" high levels of saturation.

The GIBSON USA Original Collection ES-335 60s (ES35600VBNH1) is no exception to the rule, continuing the tradition in a version that combines tradition and contemporaneity. It retains most of the features of the original 335s from the early 1960s, including a 3-ply Maple/Poplar/Maple body with center block, mahogany set neck, 22-fret Rosewood fingerboard, humbucking pickups and Tune-O-Matic bridge.
This "60s" version features a "SlimTaper" neck profile, T-Type pickups, Grover Rotomatic "Milk Bottle" Kidney Button tuning machines and "Small Blocks" fretboard inlays. The pickups are Gibson T-Type humbuckers, a replica of the Gibson T-Top Humbucker fitted to the firm's guitars from 1968 to 1980. This pickup was notably installed by Jimmy Page on his legendary 1959 Gibson Les Paul Sunburst "No. 1", an instrument that helped lay the foundations of the 1970s Hard-Rock sound. Featuring Alnico 5 magnets, with a moderate DC resistance of 7.Each pickup is connected to its own volume and tone controls (500k) and to high-end "Orange Drop" capacitors.

The hardware consists of a traditional ABR-1 Tune-O-Mati bridge, a Stop Bar tailpiece and Grover Rotomatic "Milk Bottle" Kidney Button tuning machines.CareThe nitrocellulose varnish, as on vintage Gibson instruments, plays a major role in the instrument's "breathing" thanks to its porous nature (vibrations are not muffled by the varnish). On the other hand, this varnish is relatively sensitive to contact with the plastics and foams of certain stands, as well as to certain excessively detergent cleaning products.
