Folk guitar
Introduced in 1960, the Gibson Hummingbird is as essential a steel-string acoustic guitar as the J-45, J-200 or Martin D-28. It has accompanied most legendary musicians in their careers.
A must-have electro-acoustic folk guitar, the GIBSON Modern Collection Hummingbird Special (MCSSHBSPCWR) has most of the features of the original model, with identical all-solid-wood construction (Sitka spruce top, mahogany back/sides/neck, rosewood fingerboard), but differs from its predecessor in its reduced body depth, which Gibson has dubbed "Concert Body Depth". Slightly more compact, with optimized ergonomics, it remains acoustically relatively powerful and very well balanced, with a homogeneous frequency balance (dynamic bass, generous midrange, musical treble).
A LR Baggs Element Bronze preamp will facilitate its amplification in concert or studio (volume/tonality controls in the soundhole).CareThe nitrocellulose varnish, as on vintage Gibson instruments, plays a major role in the instrument's 'breathing' thanks to its porous nature (vibrations are not muffled by the varnish). To avoid damaging your guitar, we recommend Hercules stands, whose foams are based on a specific non-abrasive formula.
