The timeless Dreadnought Slope Shoulder J-45 - aka The Workhorse - has been an enduring favorite of legendary musicians since its release in 1942.
An essential electro-acoustic folk guitar, the GIBSON J45 Special (MCRS45SPCWR) is its direct heir, featuring identical all-solid-wood construction (Sitka spruce top, mahogany back/sides/neck, rosewood fingerboard), but distinguished from its predecessor by its reduced body depth, which Gibson has dubbed "Concert Body Depth". Slightly more compact, with optimized ergonomics, it remains acoustically very well balanced, with a homogeneous frequency balance (dynamic bass, generous midrange, musical treble).
