Model 2024: With its all-solid-wood construction and vintage/modern hybrid design, the GIBSON Modern Acoustic SJ-200 Studio Walnut (MCJB2SWSWB) is a referential and inevitable Super Jumbo-style electro-acoustic steel-string acoustic folk guitar.
Solid Sitka spruce top, solid American walnut back/ sides, and LR Baggs Element Bronze system (volume and tone in the soundhole). Walnut has a hybrid character between Rosewood, Mahogany and Maple, enhanced by magnificent clarity. The nitrocellulosevarnish, as on vintage Gibson instruments, plays a major role in the instrument's "breathing" thanks to its porous nature (vibrations are not muffled by the varnish). On the other hand, this varnish is relatively sensitive to contact with the plastics and foams of certain stands, as well as to certain cleaning products that are too detergent. To avoid damaging your guitar, we recommend Hercules stands, whose foams have a specially studied non-abrasive formula.
