Jhs 3 Series Oil Can Delay

Inspired by Les Paul's Tape Echo, Ray Lubow filed a patent on June 30, 1959 for a more compact, electrostatic version of the original device we know as the "Oil Can Delay". Initially, the device was sold to firms such as Fender, Gibson and Rickenbacker. In the 1960s, Ray and his wife Mary decided to market it on their own, founding the Morley company. At Wilco's Solid Sound festival in 2022, Josh Scott - founder of JHS - had a chat with legendary guitarist Nels Cline about their respective experiences with the delay effects each had had the opportunity to try out. From this conversation came the idea for Nels Cline to ask JHS to develop a new version of the Oil Can Delay. "The compact JHS PEDALS 3 Series Oil Can Delay reproduces the legendary sound of the Oil Can Delay, with a Delay Time adjustable from 100 ms to 330 ms and a modulation circuit (switch allowing you to choose between two intensities). Each effect in the 3 Series is made in Kansas City, USA, from high-quality components. The concept is to offer processors that are as efficient as they are practical, with a minimum of controls and optimum flexibility.
