Reverb, delay & echo effect pedal
The Tape Delay was invented in the late 1940s when Les Paul linked two Ampex Model 200A tape recorders. A few years later, in 1953, Ray Butts developed the Echosonic, the first true tape delay unit. This was followed by Mike Battle's Echoplex EP-1 in 1961 and Roland's Space Echo in 1974.
The compact JHS PEDALS 3 Series Tape Delay is a modern, streamlined version of these legendary units. The Tape Speed control mimics the speed variations and effect length of a RE-201 tape motor, while the Flutter switch adds a subtle modulation reminiscent of the wear on the mechanical elements of these old effects. Each effect in the 3 Series is made in Kansas City, USA, from high-quality components. The concept is to offer processors that are as efficient as they are practical, with a minimum of controls and optimum flexibility.
